I havent done Illustration Friday for ages now, so i thought id do one this week. Also, i had free time as i havent been sleeping much lately. The topic is 'prehistoric' and i immediately thought 'pterodactyls'. i dont know why.

A quick character sketch i did in about an hour, didnt really have anything planned, just got some reference together and started drawing. i think it came out ok

so iv been working on some bookbinding lately as well, thought id post a few photos i had lying around of the sketchbooks iv made recently.

been trying out a wash method for colouring my ink drawings.

its time consuking but pretty fun.

tried to do something a bit different for this one. im interested in the way the title of a book or film can suggest so many different routes for a story, and how just making up a title, not creating the narrative inside, but using an image to suggest a certain story or theme can make for an interesting image.

i think the image is a bit too dark, still working on my confidence using colours.

well i cant seem to get any results i want with paint and brush, so iv started trying to add a touch of colour to my drawings on photoshop. not sure about the final outcome though.
